It is important to verify your benefits and eligibility from your insurance company. We also offer self-pay options if you would like to pay out of pocket.
Meet with the bariatric surgeons. They will ask you pertinent questions about your health and lifestyle to determine if you will be a successful bariatric surgery candidate. Contact our physician referral line at 1-866-900-4321 to find a physician near you.

You will need to obtain the appropriate primary care, psychological and pulmonary (for sleep apnea) evaluations and clearances prior to surgery. Your bariatric surgeon can also help you determine if additional clearances are needed based on your medical condition (i.e., cardiology, nephrology, endocrinology, or hematology). Contact our physician referral line at 1-866-900-4321 to find a physician near you.
After insurance requirements have been met and your surgery has been scheduled, you will sign your surgical and bariatric practice consent forms and complete the required pre-op testing and lab work (i.e. ~1 week before surgery). All self-pay fees are due at this visit. Post-operative recovery times usually last one or two days depending on your surgery and your ability to easily tolerate clear liquids.
You will return for your first follow-up appointment one to two weeks after surgery. More follow-up visits will be scheduled to review your eating habits, nutrition and exercise regimen. You should continue to see your primary doctor during this period as previously scheduled. Additionally, support groups will help you interact with and learn from other pre- and post-surgery patients. Click here to review and register for a class or support group.
