You are only as strong as your team. That’s why the Piedmont Bariatric Program brings an entire team of board-certified surgeons, nutritionists, fitness experts and specialists in sleep apnea, pulmonary, endocrinology, cardiology and psychology to help you lose weight. Together, we are here to help you along every step in your journey.
Bariatric Surgeons
Our bariatric surgeons are passionate about what they do and believe in investing time to get to know you as an individual. When asked why he became a bariatric surgeon at Piedmont Hospital, Dr. Kevin McGill stated: “I love developing a life-long rapport with patients. I feel privileged to be a part of changing their lives for the better.”
Dr. McGill is a board-certified bariatric surgeon at Piedmont Hospital. He completed his minimally-invasive surgery and bariatric surgery fellowship at St. Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York. He is also a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.
Nutritionists
The Piedmont Bariatric Program isn’t just about a surgical procedure. Nutrition also plays a huge role in how much weight you lose. Nutritionist Jackie Oleski, RDLD, conducts nutritional evaluations with each patient to determine eating histories, eating patterns and dietary recommendations before and after surgery.
Fitness Experts
Exercise is another important component to successful weight loss. There’s no getting around it. Without exercise, your weight loss will be limited. Jennifer Hopper, M.S., ACSM-HFS_CES, Manager of the Piedmont Hospital Health and Fitness Club, consults with patients before surgery to identify the good experiences and challenges you’ve had with exercise. Jennifer will then help you develop an effective short-term and long-term exercise plan.
