Freedom from Smoking

Make a commitment to be smoke-free. Seven-week program includes eight 90-minute sessions. Open to the community. Classes are held in the 77 Building, sixth floor, in the Pulmonary Resource Classroom. Registration required. Community member cost is $25. Free for employees and their immediate family members. Call for more information.

Note: There is a strong correlation between successfully quitting smoking and the number of sessions an individual attends. If you expect to miss more than one session, you may want to wait for another class to begin.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, early detection is the key to increasing the survival rate for oral cancer and plays a significant role in patients' success in fighting the disease. However, only 15percent of the population reports ever having an oral cancer examination and a mere seven percent reports receiving annual screenings.
