Cardiac Rehabilitation and Heart Disease Prevention Program 404-605-1834 For individuals recovering from a cardiac event, or those with any form of heart disease or coronary risk factors. Emphasizes improving endurance and strength, healthy eating and weight management, stress management, psychosocial adjustment and tobacco cessation. Meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7 a.m. to noon or 3:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Physician referral required. Call for more information.

Healthy Heart Class 1-866-900-4321 For individuals interested in preventing heart disease or those recently diagnosed with heart disease or hospitalized for a heart attack, angioplasty or coronary artery bypass, internal cardiac device, pacemaker or heart failure. Topics include exercise, nutrition, stress management, medications and risk-factor reduction. Meets third Tuesday of every month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Classrooms 4 and 5 in the 77 Building, ground floor (behind the Richard H. Rich Auditorium). Registration is requested.

Fuqua Heart Center for Prevention 404-605-2497 Through genetics, education, research and diagnostic technology, the Fuqua Heart Center for Prevention helps identify people at risk for heart disease and educates them about detection, prevention and reversal of heart disease.
