Sauls Memorial Library of the Health Sciences

After the death of H. Cliff Sauls, MD, in 1947, his wife donated his personal collection of medical books to Piedmont Hospital to start a medical library.  Like Piedmont Hospital, the Sauls Memorial Library of the Health Sciences was ahead of its time. Since its inception in 1972, the library has become a vital resource of valuable health information and services for the physicians and other healthcare professionals on staff at Piedmont Hospital.

The mission of the Sauls Memorial Library is to help advance medical and related sciences through the collection, dissemination, and exchange of medical and health information. To accomplish this goal, the library staff is dedicated to giving all healthcare professionals at Piedmont the highest quality, current medical information resources and services available.

We serve the medical staff, other healthcare professionals, and employees of Piedmont Hospital, Piedmont Fayette Hospital, Piedmont Mountainside Hospital, the Piedmont Medical Care Foundation and Piedmont Clinics.

The library is located on the Piedmont Hospital campus in the 77 Building, sixth floor, near the North Parking Deck. Visitors to the library are welcome.
