Piedmont's 20-bed medical oncology unit offers full-spectrum care and support. We take an integrated approach to methodically destroy cancer cells throughout the body, using a combination of chemotherapy (the use of powerful anti-cancer drugs to attack cancer cells), hormone therapy and other advanced medications. Treatment is tailored to each patient's condition. We also provide medications that can alleviate or reduce the side effects of chemotherapy.

Our medical oncologists strive to develop new medications that will successfully treat cancers with as few side effects as possible. Patients at Piedmont have the opportunity to participate in clinical trials and other research studies to test new advanced medications.
